nyc marathon portraits
This was the first year for me to see the NYC Marathon in person and I knew I wanted to document it in some way in addition to the candids from the previous post… so I decided to ask runners who had just finished if I could take their portrait, just as they were. Everyone I encountered was so proud of their accomplishment (rightly so) and also so humbled that I would want to photograph them that I was never met with a “no”. This is what the back end of 26.2 miles looks like.

jen + scott
Jen and Scott’s wedding was featured on Once Wed this week, you can check it out here and here to find out some more details about the day. I was so excited for this wedding the first time I met Jen. She has a great eye for detail and did an amazing job making the entire day unique for her and Scott. The ceremony was held in Central Park and then we headed down to Brooklyn for the reception at Frankies Spuntino. All of the beautiful flowers were created by Saipua. And I can’t forget to mention the photo booth… good times had by all! Congrats Jen & Scott!
caitlin + billy
I met Caitlin a few months ago when we both attended one of the fabulous Sunday Suppers classes and have kept in touch through twitter and her blog (dedicated to good food, good drinks and good friends). A few weeks ago we met up on a beautiful NY summer afternoon to take a few photographs of Caitlin and Billy around the city before they embarked on a move across the country back to their home state of California. New York is definitely sad to see you two go!
