lemon tree

A happy little lemon tree bearing fruit in the middle of January in NYC up at the Cloisters. Shot on the Rollei.

a day at the park

Here are a few images from an afternoon spent at the ball park with my nieces and nephew. I was in Tennessee for work and got to spend a little bit of time with these kiddos. Its always a fun time with this crew and love getting to see them and their mom and dad when I am in town, just wish I was there more often!

emily + jon

I have been meaning to post so many of the weddings and travels I photographed in 2011 and am now finally getting around to it. Emily & Jon were married at the beautiful Bedell Cellars on the the North Fork of Long Island last September. It was such a classically beautiful celebration on a perfect end of summer day. And a BIG thank you to Jamie Clayton who shot with me that day. I hope you enjoy the images!

london calling

It has been pretty quiet on the blog lately and I can say it is due to the fact that up until a few days ago my husband and I have been stuck in a little bit of a life limbo. Back in the fall an opportunity to move abroad to London came about and after many hours of discussion, we decided to take it!

We had lived in London for the first couple years of our marriage and it has always been a special city to us, but simply because we wanted to move back didn’t mean it was official– we still had to apply for visas. After filling out an insane amount of paper work and gathering a lifetime of supporting documents, this passed Friday we got the official word that our visas had been approved, thus the end of being in limbo!

The moving process starts this week and even though it is a little bit daunting to think about, but we are both so excited. As far as my work is concerned, I will still be shooting in the states for certain months out of the year with plans to expand business in London and Europe. Basically, I will be based out of 2 cities- NYC and London, but willing to travel the world. Can’t wait to share more about this adventure we are about to embark on and hope you enjoy it with us!

a summer soiree

Ann Stewart & Pearson welcomed guests who had traveled across the country to a family friend’s home to kickoff the weekend celebrations with a summer soiree. It was a perfect summer evening filled with the sounds of bluegrass and that sweet southern air. More images from the wedding celebration to come soon!

The latest issue of Southern Living Weddings hits news stands today and you can see Ann Stewart & Pearson’s lovely wedding fetured in it! There is a 2 page spread focusing on their wedding (p. 24-25) and additional images were used on page 7 along with two more full page photographs on pages 9 and 108. I will be sure to post some of my favorites from the day here soon but until then, go check out the magazine! And many, many thanks to Jamie Clayton for second shooting with me!

2011

2011 has been an amazing year for me personally, professionally and photographically. I have been blessed to work with clients that have shown me nothing but kindness and gratitude while really I should be sending that their way for allowing me to document their lives. Not being one much for words, here is a little photographic rundown of the beautiful couples I had the chance to photograph this year. Thank you.

the doss family

I’ve been so lucky to get to know the Doss family over the years and have loved seeing the kids grow up with each family photo session. The last four images crack me up– it was the end of the shoot and I just let the kids do whatever they wanted. You can definitely see their different personalities coming out.

liza + cutler

I loved editing this session of Liza, Cutler and their pup Walter who is the friendliest dog in town. We hung around their home (I would hire Liza to decorate my home in a heart beat) and then they took me to a spot in Nashville where I had never been before (which is surprising as a born and raised Nashvillian). Can’t wait until their wedding next Spring… maybe Walter will make another appearance. You can view the entire shoot here.

rugged maniac

Here are some shots from a race my husband ran in Brooklyn a few weeks ago (he’s the one jumping from the top of the rope wall). It was one of those adventure races with obstacles throughout and was definitely entertaining to watch. Maybe I’ll participate next time… all shot on the Leica M6 with Fuji Neopan 400.
