sedona

A few weeks ago, my husband and I spent a few days hiking and hanging out in Sedona with our family.  It was the epitome of relaxing and of course the scenery was beautiful.  This is what we were surrounded by as we traded the busy streets of New York for the beauty of Arizona for a few days…

katie + stephen: part III

And now on to the reception. After the ceremony, they transformed the green house by bringing in tables and flowers and a large buffet of fabulous food.  Guests were able to roam the grounds of the botanical gardens, and of course there was dancing like I have never seen dancing before!  Here are the images…

Thank you Kate and Stephen for letting me be apart of your day and thank you to Kimberly Manz for shooting with me!

katie + stephen: part II

One of my favorite parts of the day is getting the couple alone to shoot some portraits.  This may be one of the only times during the day that the couple is alone and it can produce some really nice moments.  Well, Katie and Stephen did not disappoint, so here they are…

… these next few images have a little story behind them. You see, Katie and Stephen met while playing ultimate frisbee, so they decided to make frisbees with the silhouette that Katie had designed on them and give them as favors. And of course, they were up for taking some shots of throwing the frisbee around while in their wedding garb…

Katie and Stephen’s wedding day was absolutely gorgeous and it seemed like everyone helped out to make the day a true celebration.  I had such a wonderful time shooting this wedding and getting to know their families and friends.  The ceremony and reception were both held at the Knoxville Botanical Gardens, which may be one of my new favorite locations to shoot with all of its hidden treasures.  Now on to the photos…

…I just love their invitation… the fonts, the paper, the entire design!

sneak peek: katie + stephen

I shot this beautiful wedding a couple of weeks ago in Knoxville, TN with the amazing Kimberly Manz by my side.  Despite the insane heat, it was a great and joyful celebration all around.  Be sure to stop by soon as I post more images from Katie and Stephen’s day… for now here is a sneak peek…

travel: london town

A few weeks back, my husband and I were able to visit our old stomping ground.  You see, for some strange reason, we thought it a good idea to pick up and move across an entire ocean the day after our wedding… and so began our first two years of married life in London.  One of my brothers has moved there since we came back to the states and so we planned a trip to visit family, catch up with old friends and throw back a pint or two.  Here is a little look into our trip…

…a little picnic in hyde park…

…ok, if there is one place you MUST go, it is the Hummingbird Bakery in Notting Hill on Portobello Road. They tout themselves as an american bakery and if we ever had a craving for some “homemade” treats, this is the place we would go. Try not to go on a saturday because the line will be out the door. The cupcakes are amazing, especially the red velvet…

…just some lovely flowers at a corner in Chelsea…

untitled-6

…one of the highlights was going to the London Transport Museum (i know, kind of nerdy, but it was so cool. AND we never had a chance to visit in our 2 years in London)…

…so we stayed at my brother’s place for most of the trip, but we decided to treat ourselves and stay in a cool hotel for the last few nights. The Blakes Hotel in Chelsea did not disappoint! Each room is unique and decorated quite elaborately…

…and finally, saying goodbye at Paddington Station. Until next time…

… all in all it was a great trip! We got to see some familiar faces and visit old haunts. Can’t wait to go back, whenever that may be…

mandy + matt: part II

After the ceremony and reception ended, I took Mandy and Matt on a portrait session through downtown Nashville. We started out at the Standard, went down Broadway by all of the Honky-Tonks and ended up at the beautiful Union Station Hotel. They were such troopers and it made for such a great shoot! Here are some of my favorites from the end of the day…

mandy + matt: part I

I have been wanting to post these images since the minute I took them. At the end of March I was so happy to be in Nashville shooting Mandy & Matt’s wedding. We had such a great time on their engagement shoot in NY, I knew the wedding would be amazing! They had the ceremony and reception at The Standard at the Smith House, a beautiful townhouse from the 1840′s in downtown Nashville. Here are a few of my favorites from the day… starting with some getting ready shots…
