I met Caitlin a few months ago when we both attended one of the fabulous Sunday Suppers classes and have kept in touch through twitter and her blog (dedicated to good food, good drinks and good friends). A few weeks ago we met up on a beautiful NY summer afternoon to take a few photographs of Caitlin and Billy around the city before they embarked on a move across the country back to their home state of California. New York is definitely sad to see you two go!

I’ve been traveling a lot lately and have stayed in some hotels with great decor and design, so I thought I’d post some images of a few of my favorite places. The Ace Hoteldidn’t require much traveling beyond a cab ride (they have hotels in Portland, Seattle and Palm Springs as well NYC) but we stayed there for a special occasion and loved it…
Jen and Scott let me spend the day with them at City Hall (and later on at Coney Island) for what was going to be an engagement session and turned into a pre-wedding wedding! The intimate ceremony was so fun to capture. They are having their wedding with friends and family in a few weeks and I know it is going to be a great celebration all around. I have been away from NY for a week and on my run this morning I was struck by the amazing blooms everywhere that popped up while I was gone… so I grabbed my sx-70 to capture the loveliness…
Freshly fallen snow, ear muffs, a plaid scarf, ranunculus… all of these add up to a great engagement shoot with Molly and Matt. We took advantage of the big snow fall from the night before and I’m so glad we did! Molly and Matt, thanks for trudging through the snow with me and I can not wait to capture your wedding day in a few months!
